Welcome to the Citroen Car Club

The Club for Citroën enthusiasts everywhere

For more information, telephone 07000 248 258

We've been looking after Club members since 1949 so we know what we're talking about when it comes to Citroën the marque, its heritage and that elusive ingredient that makes these cars so special, even today.

Clearly, it's a combination of our name, reputation and experience that accounts for the 4000+ Citroën vehicles in our ranks. In fact, it's probably fair to say that many of the older models wouldn't be on our roads today if this Club hadn't provided timely expert advice and technical camaraderie to model owners during this period.

But times have changed and now it's not just technical advice that matters to our members. We see more and younger members joining us with sporty Saxos, wicked C2s, trendy C3s, family C5s and spacious C8s. In fact there are as many new cars as air-cooled ones in our ranks, although the older classics and affordable (5+ years old) do make up the majority today.

Regardless of your choice of Citroën model, we're sure you'll find something for your needs within our Club services today.

To get the full benefit of this site, please register a user ID using the panel to the left. You don't have to be a CCC member, but you'll get even more from the site if you are.

Citroen secures 4 class wins at British Insurance Car Security Awards

Citroën picked up more awards than any other manufacturer at this year’s British Insurance Car Security Awards at Thatcham’s Motor Insurance Repair Research Centre. The Company won the vehicle security awards with four different models.

Citroën’s stylish C6 picked up the top spot in the Executive class for the second year in a row, as did the C4 Picasso Exclusive, clinching the Compact MPV accolade. The recently launched C5 Exclusive and popular C4 Exclusive dominated the family vehicle categories, taking both the Family and Small Family titles respectively.

Keeping occupants safe and secure, as well as thwarting smash and grab opportunists, the Company uses laminated glass on more models than any other manufacturer, further contributing to its BICSA wins. The glass and plastic sandwich construction enables windows to maintain their integrity, even after numerous blows.

Citroën’s success at this year’s event means the Company has now received an unprecedented fourteen security accolades since the British Insurance Car Security Awards were launched just five years ago.

Xavier Duchemin, managing director of Citroën UK Ltd, commented: “Our continuing success at these prestigious awards reaffirms that Citroën is a provider of some of the safest and most secure vehicles on the market today. We are dedicated to developing security technology so that our customers not only benefit from owning an award-winning, reassuringly secure vehicle, but also save money with ultra-low insurance ratings. We’re delighted with the performance of our newly launched C5, which is recognised as one of the most secure executive vehicles on the road.”

PSA & Mitsubishi launch electric powertrain co-operative project
74 Reads

PSA Peugeot Citroën and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) announced today that both companies agreed to start a feasibility study on an extended technical collaboration in the field of electric powertrains.

This project, which will run over several months, relates to the development, the manufacture and the use of an electric powertrain for small urban vehicles.

To step up the viability of electric vehicle projects and accelerate market introduction, the companies agreed that cooperation on electric vehicle development and production would be mutually beneficial.

This new agreement reinforces the bonds between the two manufacturers who, a week ago, laid the first stone of their joint Russian factory, in Kaluga (180 km south west of Moscow).

For PSA Peugeot Citroën, this agreement lies within the scope of its Strategy and Ambition plan covering 2010-2015, which should maintain the PSA Group’s leadership in environmentally friendly cars.

With an extensive knowledge of electric vehicles, PSA Peugeot Citroën is the largest global manufacturer of electric vehicles to date with more than 10 000 units sold. PSA Peugeot Citroën will bring to this project its expertise in the field of electric powertrains.

For MMC this agreement is consistent with its electric vehicle strategy.

MMC, aiming to become one of the leading car manufacturers of electric vehicles, has prioritised development of the i MiEV new-generation electric vehicle for introduction to the market. MMC will launch the electric vehicle in the Japanese domestic market in 2009 and is considering a possible future introduction to Europe and the U.S.

In addition, MMC has set up Lithium Energy Japan, a Joint Venture founded in partnership with GS Yuasa and Mitsubishi Corporation, which is to supply large capacity and high performance lithium ion batteries for the i MiEV. Preparation for mass-production of the batteries is going smoothly.

Citroen displays sporting history and supercar future...

...at the 2008 Goodwood Festival of Speed

Citroën will be displaying two very special vehicles at this year’s Festival of Speed at Goodwood, exhibiting both the rich racing pedigree and forward thinking, environmentally considerate design of the marque.

A replica of the Citroën Xsara WRC, as driven by Colin McRae in the 2003 World Rally Championship will be showcased at the event’s Forest Rally Stage paddock, alongside ten other significant vehicles from the late rally champion’s career. This will form part of a special tribute to the Scottish racing legend.

Over at the circuit’s Technology Pavillion, Citroën’s stunning concept supercar, the C-Métisse, will also be on display, making its first ever appearance in the UK.

With its aviation-inspired cockpit, gull-wing doors and ‘fighter jet’ style roof controls, the C-Métisse, which debuted at the Paris Motor Show in 2006, proved that a high performance car could also be green. Capable of a top speed of 155mph, the exceptionally stylish and super-futuristic Citroën has the ability to cover 45 miles per gallon on the combined cycle and emits just 174g/km of CO2 thanks to its three drive trains – an economical 208bhp V6 HDi diesel engine, plus two separate electric motors on the rear wheels to develop an additional 400Nm of torque and allow the car to run in Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Mode.

The specially designed carbon fibre body reduces the car’s total weight to just 1,400kg including the batteries, enabling the C-Métisse to hit 0-62mph in just 6.2 seconds. A ‘boost’ function activated under heavy acceleration, engages the electric motors to combine with the combustion engine, enhancing the power and performance without increasing the fuel consumption.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed runs from the 11th to the 13th of July. For more information visit: http://www.goodwood.co.uk/fos

Wrong date in The Citroenian of the Scottish Section Rally
257 Reads

Hello Everybody,

Pat McCabe has kindly pointed out to me that the advert for the Scottish Section Rally on page 10 of the June Citroenian contains the dates for last year's rally! It will be corrected for the July issue but, if you are planning to attend (and I hope that you are), please note that it will be held from the 1st to the 3rd of August 2008.
