The Citroen C8 brings the mpv sector right up to date, with a new twist on versatility and ability. Versatility that's now available in an extended range and with a new six speed manual gearbox for the 2.2HDi models. The C8 is also affordable - as this stylish Citroen range has recommended retail prices starting from just £18,950 on the road.

With the C8 Citroen recognises that today's mpv drivers not only need the ability to meet the demands of busy business and social lives, but they also want high levels of driver satisfaction. Thus the C8 offers a high level of on-road competence combined with the comfort and convenience necessary to fulfil a wide range of family requirements.

Externally the C8's smooth flowing lines combine aerodynamic efficiency and a huge window area for excellent all-round visibility in a dynamic looking package that's easy to get in and out of. As well as wide opening front doors the C8 has large, smooth acting sliding rear doors, which, on all but LX models, are electrically operated.

And the interior matches the bold exterior. Internally, Citroen's C8 designers have gone to town, with a unique, clean modern look, which deliver both eye appeal and unrivalled practicality. To meet virtually any family requirement, dependent on model, C8s can be specified in luxury six seat Captain's Chair format, as a seven seater or, optionally, as an eight seater. Three trim levels, LX, SX and Exclusive are available, all of which include automatic digital, dual or tri-zone (dependent on model), air conditioning, with separate temperature controls for driver and front passenger and vents for rear passengers.

With a choice of two petrol engines, 138hp 2.0i 16V and 160hp 2.2i 16V; and 109hp 2.0HDi 16V or 130hp 2.2HDI 16V advanced common rail diesels, the C8 has the power necessary for crossing town or crossing continents. Also, the C8 offers a choice of manual five and six speed gearboxes and sequential auto-adaptive automatic transmission.

Under the C8's skin technology abounds, with multiplex wiring providing numerous innovative functions for increased levels of comfort and safety. Safety is one of the C8's strong suits - this is the first mpv to achieve the maximum 5 star rating in Euro NCAP testing. C8 active and passive safety features include ABS with EBD and EBA - and most models are available, either standard or optionally with Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) and traction control. Also all C8 models have driver/front passenger air bags, front lateral airbags and side window airbags.

The dashboard layout includes traditional Citroen design cues resulting in a simple, elegant two deck layout, uniquely with natural daylight between each level to create a feeling of spaciousness. The dashboard's central 3 in 1 high-tech, glass sphere instrumentation cluster uses advanced dial technology which makes it not only easy on the eye, but easy to read.

MPVs are all about space - and here the C8 delivers. Each full size rear seat slides on rails over a distance of 15cm thanks to an innovative Quickfix® function, which also makes it easier to remove seats to provide additional luggage space. The rear seats also fold horizontally and then vertically in a single movement to optimise passenger and luggage space requirements.  In addition the C8 has storage spaces galore. And the impression of massive internal space is boosted by clever use of upholstery and trim to provide a light, airy and relaxing interior environment. An interior which is well equipped to provide practical luxury, as all C8s have CD players, electric front windows, opening rear quarterlights, variable assistance power steering, on-board computer and remote central locking.
