C6 safety recall
1526 Reads

C6 owners should know that VOSA have issued a safety recall that braking assistance may be lost. Owners are strongly advised to contact their dealers. With the postal strike on, letters informing owners will probably be delayed. Thanks to my ever helpful dealer, Sportif Citroen of Chalfont St Giles for the information.

Citroen pre-release 100 DS3s for UK customers
1748 Reads

Well ahead of the official UK launch in Spring 2010, Citroën has released 100 examples of the dynamic and distinctive new DS3, which can be pre-ordered now. The first 100 customers to order one of the strictly limited DS3 models will be the first to take delivery of this exciting new addition to the Citroën range early next year.

Announced at the same time as DS3’s world premiere at the Frankfurt Motorshow, customers eager to get behind the wheel of the über-chic Citroën supermini can reserve one of the available models by logging on to www.ds3.citroen.com/uk.

Making up the 100 exclusive DS3’s are 20 pre-specified variants, with prices ranging from £12,985 to £18,745. Four engines are available: 1.4 VTi 95hp, 1.6 VTi 120hp, 1.6 THP 150hp and the ultra-efficient 1.6 HDi 90hp diesel. The three petrol units are from the family of Citroën power-plants co-developed with BMW.

Customers will benefit from an array of equipment, which has been carefully selected on these pre-specified models. For example, a customer can order a highly-specified DS3 1.6 THP 150hp with a 6-speed manual gearbox in Sport Yellow with a Black roof and door mirrors, chrome rubbing strips and 17" black ‘diamond-tipped’ alloys, as well as, yellow sports seats, rear parking sensors, HiFi system and USB Box with Bluetooth for just £16,670.

Gary Savage, Managing Director of Citroën UK, commented, ‘This is a unique opportunity for 100 UK customers to be first on the road with the new DS3 early next year. The distinctive DS3 model embodies the very best of Citroën’s ‘Créative Technologie’ and will appeal to cool drivers who are looking for a car that communicates individual personality and a self-confident image. When DS3 goes on sale in 2010, the car will be one of the most stylish and sophisticated superminis on the road and these first 100 UK owners will be part of a very exclusive car club.’

Customers reserving a pre-specified DS3 on-line are required to nominate a UK Citroën dealership to supply their DS3. The dealer will then contact the customer to confirm the pre-order, subject to a £500 deposit.

Frankfurt Motor Show - New C3 and Revolte concept
1297 Reads

The Frankfurt Motor Show has opened, bringing full details of Citroen's newest concept and production car.

The Revolte is the concept - " an ultra-chic city car combining luxury with a touch of cheek", carrying echoes of the 2cv, brought up to date with a high-tech hybrid powertrain and novel three-seat interior.

The new C3 will undoubtedly sell by the bucketload, replacing a car which has sold more than two million in just seven years. The information revealed today suggests that a lot of attention has been paid to quality. A huge "panoramic" windscreen, like that seen on the C4 Picasso, is a first in the class.

Citroen secures sextet of victories at vehicle security awards
1324 Reads

Citroën has continued its record run at the British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards (BIVSA) with a further six awards received at the 2009 ceremony. Awards have been presented for models from both the car and van ranges, and Citroën was voted ‘Best Van Manufacturer’ overall. The latest honours mean Citroën has now won a total of 20 accolades since the awards were launched six years ago, an unprecedented achievement unrivalled by any other vehicle manufacturer.

Both the C6 and C4 Picasso Exclusive scored an awards hat-trick, picking up the top spots in the Executive and Compact MPV classes for the third year in a row, whilst the C5 Exclusive and C4 Exclusive continued their domination of the Family and Small Family car categories.

With the introduction of ‘Van’ classes for 2009, Citroën’s LCV range was also honoured with the C-Crosser Enterprise winning the 4x4 category and, thanks to the high standard of security across Citroën’s entire van range, the Company was also awarded the ‘Best Van Manufacturer’ Award. Committed to providing reassuringly secure transport for commercial vehicle drivers and operators, Citroën’s Smartnav package is offered as standard across most of Citroën’s van range and includes stolen vehicle tracking to locate the vehicle in case of theft. This is in addition to a host of available features to deter thieves, such as deadlocks, immobilisers and alarm systems. The C-Crosser Enterprise is also fitted with protective side windows panels to guard against ‘smash and grab’ opportunists.

Citroën’s use of laminated glass on more of its cars than any other manufacturer has helped keep the Company at the top of the BIVSA awards list. The glass and plastic film construction enables the vehicle windows to maintain their integrity, even after numerous blows, keeping occupants and contents safe and secure.

Gary Savage, Managing Director of Citroën UK Ltd, commented: “Citroën’s unrivalled success at these prestigious awards is a fantastic acknowledgement of our efforts in producing some of the safest and most secure vehicles on the market today. A continuing dedication to developing and improving our security technology, in both Citroën’s car and van ranges, will ensure customers not only benefit from a wide choice of award-winning, reassuringly secure vehicles, but also the satisfaction of money-saving, low insurance ratings.”
