2CV 24 HOUR RACE - SNETTERTON 6TH/8TH AUGUST

MEMBERS INVITED TO 2CV 24 HOUR RACE MEETING When I was at 'La Vie En Bleu', I met up with Martin Harold of the Classic 2CV Racing Club, who was competing on the Hill Climb in his racing trim 2CV. We agreed that it would be a good idea for our Clubs to become more actively involved and he said that he would get his club chairman to contact me. I was subsequently contacted by Sir Aubrey Brocklebank who has invited our members to attend at their main event of the year, their 24 Hour Race at Snetterton Racing Circuit, Norfolk (10 miles north east of Thetford on the A14) over the weekend of the 7th/8th/9th August. Members are also invited to visit the pit area. The race starts at 5 pm on the Saturday. Camping will be available to members over weekend, which as far as I can ascertain is free, although the facilities are fairly basic and no hook-ups are available. Spectator entry to the circuit is £10 (£12.00 on the gate) per person per day, or £16 for both Saturday and Sunday. Food should be available throughout the race from Tyrells Restaurant. For those not attending the event, but wanting to keep in touch with its progress, they can go to www.2cvracing.org.uk, and listen in to a live webcast of the race commentary. Webcast starts around 5pm and the race starts at 5.30pm on Saturday, August 8.
