Height Corrector

The height corrector (one at the front, one at the rear) controls the fluid supply of the suspension cylinders.

Slowing the correction: Dashpot (see Pl.12)

The dashpot is a device which has the goal of preventing the slide reaching the "inlet" and "return" positions with each movement of the wheel.

When the slide moves, in one direction or the other, there is compression of the liquid contained in the chamber in the direction of movement of the slide and decompression in the other chamber (see section B).

The liquid is driven out, moving from one chamber to the other via orifice (O) (see section C) partly sealed by the needle (9); this passage creates turbulence which creates resistance to movements of the slide.

Foot-note: The front and rear correctors are connected to a hand lever giving several positions allowing raising or lowering of the car.
