After the selection of a gear by the driver (by moving the manual gear lever), all the "human" operations are replaced by hydraulic actions; the gear box and the clutch remain traditional.
Changing from one gear to another is carried out in the following order:
- deselection of the gears,
- declutching,
- synchronised selection of the gears (excluding First and Reverse which should not be selected unless the car is stopped),
- re-engagement of the clutch.
All this is done with the assistance:
- of a clutch mechanism with its disengagement control: slave cylinder,
- of a gearbox fitted with a top cover incorporating hydraulic actuating cylinders,
- of a hydraulic block including:

- the hydraulic sets connected to the gear lever's mechanism

- the servo-hydraulic controls,

- the automatic control of the clutch (which includes a low-pressure pump),
- additional devices of regulation:

- corrector of re-engagement of the clutch

- flow regulator
- of a corrector of idle speed.
